These people left Bangladesh in 1971 and came to India and some of their relatives stayed back. Today people here are worried about their relatives. After the Indo-Pakistan war in 1971, Pakistan was divided. Bangladesh emerged as a new country. During this time, many Hindu families living there left Bangladesh. Displaced Bangladeshi Hindus were brought and settled in Pilibhit, whose population is more than 30 thousand at present. At the same time, 550 families came to Chandia Hazara village in Puranpur tehsil of Pilibhit in 1971. Today about 1200 families live here. Their relatives still live in Bangladesh.
Looking at the current situation in Bangladesh, these people are worried about their relatives. These people used to talk to their relatives in Bangladesh almost every day. For the last four days, these people have lost contact with their relatives, due to which their worries are increasing. Sometimes they talk to them. At present, the situation there is not good and fundamentalists are constantly attacking Hindus and Hindu temples. Women can also be seen forming groups and talking only about their loved ones. The situation in the village is such that there is silence all around.
here, Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin dissolved parliament on Tuesday, a day after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned as Prime Minister and left the country amid massive protests against the government. A full-fledged interim government would be announced later on Tuesday, officials said. They said the president’s move to dissolve parliament has cleared the way for fresh general elections. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia (79) has been released from house arrest, the spokesman said. He said the process of releasing those arrested since July 1 has started and many have already been freed.
