Thane. Some people are seen having a birthday party at a postmortem table inside the morgue of a civil hospital in Maharashtra’s Thane.
In a sting operation, a group of persons were caught partying in the post-mortem room inside the morgue at the table on which the bodies of dead people were dismembered, i.e. post-mortem, police said.
Senior Police Inspector of Bhayandar police station M.B. Patil said that around 1.30 pm on Friday night, the celebration was celebrated with pomp in the post-mortem room adjacent to the morgue, where many bodies were also kept at that time.
“Based on the complaint of a journalist, we have registered an FIR and further investigation is on. No arrest has been made so far,” Patil told -AnyTV News.
According to journalist Anil Nautiyal, in the early hours of March 18, he was informed about openly having a liquor party inside the autopsy room of Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi (Tembha) Hospital here. This hospital is run by Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC).
Nautiyal said, “I reached there in 10 minutes and I saw about 8-9 people having a grand celebration party. When I asked what is happening, a person named Sushant claimed that It’s actually his birthday, so the party is going on.”
As soon as Nautiyal started filming it and started taking pictures they got furious and angry and tried to knock him down and beat him up but he somehow managed to escape from their clutches and ran away from the spot .
When Nautiyal reached near his car parked outside, one of the accused snatched his car keys and continued to chase him.
“I left my car there and after a few minutes ran safely home and then called the police. They promised an inquiry and also asked me to file a complaint,” the journalist said.
By the time the police reached the premises of the morgue, they had fled. From there they escaped in the dark of night.
Nautiyal claimed that Tembha Hospital was on his radar for several months as he was getting information about some unpleasant activities going on there allegedly including clicking selfies with naked bodies or molesting them.
Some official staff, ambulance drivers or assistants are said to have been among the party-goers, but it is not clear whether they were authorized to enter the morgue premises, as there is usually something inside the premises. Only select people are allowed to go.
Patil said that at least six accused have been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the stringent Maharashtra Media Personnel and Media Institutions (Violence and Damage or Damage to Property) Act.
He said that all the accused are still around and no one will be able to escape by dodging the police. He claimed that several arrests could happen after the initial investigation is completed.
To ensure strict action, Nautiyal plans to meet the MBMC administrator and other top civic officials, demanding a thorough probe into the chain of horrific activities allegedly going on in the morgue and arresting the culprits. are.
