There have been reports of tension on the India-China border since the past days. In this sequence, the news of kidnapping of a teenager from Arunachal Pradesh also made headlines in the past. The Chinese army captured the young man Miram Taron and held him for a week. After the efforts of the Indian Army, the Chinese government again handed over Meeram to India. After returning to India, Meeram had to go through the necessary paperwork while in quarantine for a few days. After this, the army handed over Niram to his family members during a function in Upper Siang district on Monday evening.
Let us tell you that 17-year-old Miram along with his friend Johnny Yang had gone hunting near the India-China Line of Actual Control. Meanwhile, the Chinese army caught Meeram on the border, but his friend Johnny somehow escaped. Johnny reached his village and informed the family about Meeram’s arrest. The family members informed the army officers about this.
After meeting his son Miram, his father Opang Taray told the media that his son was terribly scared after the incident. He is tired after returning from China. Miram’s father also said that the People’s Liberation Army of China tortured his son. During custody, he was blindfolded and his hands were also kept tied. Meeram was not even given enough food on time and was tortured by kicking her in the stomach. He was given even a mild electric shock.
It may be recalled that on January 19, BJP MP from Arunachal East constituency, Tapip Gao was the first to share the information about the kidnapping of this teenager on social media Twitter. After Meeram’s return, people in his village Zido are happy and are appreciating the efforts of the army. It is to be known that in September 2020 also last year, the Chinese army had allegedly kidnapped 5 boys in Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. He too was released a week later by the Chinese army.
