‘We can learn from this defeat’
After the defeat, Rishabh Pant said, ‘I am definitely disappointed. The best thing for us is that we can learn from it. Our bowlers bowled well for 15-16 overs but could not maintain that rhythm in the death overs. The game after this was out of our control. Rishabh Pant took 26 balls to score 28 runs. During this period he hit two fours and one six. However, he is not able to generate his power during the shot. He is struggling for runs right now.
We lost wickets early in the middle order
Rishabh Pant further said, ‘Many times it happens that after a slow start, batsmen try to score fast runs in the death overs. Same thing happened in this match also. The way Riyan Parag behaved in the last overs, we completely lost control of the match. While chasing the target, Mitchell Marsh and David Warner gave us a good start but we lost wickets in the middle overs which proved to be detrimental for us. We have to show strength in the middle order. For Delhi, Tristan Stubbs scored unbeaten 44 runs in 23 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes, while David Warner scored 49 runs in 34 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes.
