Brahmaswarup Pramukhswami Maharaj d. On 13/8/2016, at Sarangpur Teerthdham, he became Akshar Nivasi after finishing his physical body.
Before Antardhan Leela, he wished that the last rites should be performed at such a place, where Lord Shree Swaminarayan is always in front of my eyes and Gurudev Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj’s eyes are always on me. Accordingly, the Pramukhswami Smriti Temple has been built at the same place with the inspiration of the manifested Guru Shri Mahantswami Maharaj. Pramukhswami Maharaj has built more than 1200 temples across the world and has enhanced the glory of Indian culture by creating Akshardham in Gandhinagar, Delhi and America. To pay tribute to his epoch-making works, the architecture of his Smriti Mandir is also as beautiful as that of Akshardham.
It is noteworthy that the consecration of Shikharbaddha temple located in Delhi Akshardham complex was also done on this day on Vasant Panchami. The consecration ceremony of this Kalamandit temple of Guruhari Pramukhswami Maharaj was completed on 26/01/2023 in Sarangpur in the presence of thousands of devotees on 26/01/2023 in the presence of Brahmaswarup Mahantswami Maharaj.
Let us tell you that the foundation stone of Pramukhswami Maharaj Smriti Mandir was laid by Param Pujya Mahantswami Maharaj on 17 December 2018. After this, with the efforts and devotion of saints and devotees, the Smriti Mandir was built in four years. This Nagara style temple is 140 feet long, 140 feet wide and 63 feet high, made of a combination of 7,839 stones. There is 1 Ghummat, 4 Samaran and 16 Ghumtis. The decorated pillars, domes etc. of this Smriti Mandir are decorated with the sculptures of contemporary saints and devotees of Lord Swaminarayan and Pramukhswami Maharaj.
In the center of this temple, a marble idol of Pramukhswami Maharaj with Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj is seated. Where B.A.P.S. Vedic Mahapuja was also performed in the morning by the senior saints of the institution. Thousands of devotees came from all over the world to participate in this Vedic Mahapuja. At 11.45 a.m. the main Vedic consecration ceremony of Smriti Mandir was performed by Mahantswami Maharaj with lotus flowers. After the consecration ceremony, Param Pujya Mahantswami Maharaj sang the praises of Guru Pramukhswami Maharaj and the Pramukh Smriti Mandir and blessed that “the auspicious resolutions of those who visit this temple with devotion will be fulfilled.” Pramukhswami Maharaj used to say in his main works ‘to worship God and get it done’. Therefore, this Smriti Mandir also gives the message of strengthening faith and devotion in life. Remembering the infinite qualities of Brahmaswaroop Pramukhswami Maharaj, this Pramukh Smriti Mandir will become a unique center of reverence and devotion to Guru for innumerable people in the days to come.
