New Delhi. India’s largest electric bus depot is going to be built in the country’s capital Delhi. The foundation stone of this electric bus depot was laid on Tuesday in Vasant Vihar, Delhi. Public sector construction company NBCC will build this bus depot. This bus depot will be built at a cost of Rs 409.94 crore. This new electric bus depot of Delhi will be spread over an area of about 7.50 lakh square feet. This will be India’s first multi-level bus depot for electric buses. This bus depot will be ready in two years.
The bus depot will be equipped with modern facilities and will be powered by solar panels. There will be a four-storey underground basement for car parking and other services along with additional bus parking on the terrace level covered with solar panels and polycarbonate roof. The bus depot will be able to accommodate 434 buses. The project aims to be a 3 star GRIHA rated project.

This bus depot will have all these facilities
This bus depot will be energy efficient and will use solar power for common area and outdoor lighting. More than 85 EV charging points will also be created for buses to make public transport energy efficient and eco-friendly. There will also be proper water management in this bus depot. The bus depot will also have water harvesting for flushing, air conditioning and gardening.
