Bhopal. An important tripartite settlement memorandum was signed at the Chief Minister’s residence to strengthen the long -term cooperation between France and the Government of Madhya Pradesh. It will establish the state as the new center of cultural and tourism cooperation between India and France.
This historic MoU was signed by French Ambassador to India, Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Shiv Shekhar Shukla and Akhilesh Verma, President of Alins Frances de Bhopal. The agreement will be valid for the next three years and will be carried forward by mutual consent.
Mohan Yadav said that relations between India and France have always been good. This is further intensified after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to France. Madhya Pradesh is also ready for business relations with cultural relations with France. His visit to France is proposed next month.
The Chief Minister said that in terms of industrial development between India and France, work will be done on the possibilities of mutual cooperation with a view to encouraging entrepreneurs and encouraging crafts. The memorandum of understanding realizes our vision of establishing Madhya Pradesh not only the cultural capital of the country but also as a progressive, global tourism and cultural center. The artists of the state will get a global platform and there will be a significant increase in the number of tourists coming from France and Europe.
Expressing happiness over this partnership, French Ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou said, “We are very happy to establish this important cooperation with the Madhya Pradesh government. France mainly works on tourism, security, environment and education. This MoU will further strengthen cultural relations between the two countries, which will open new opportunities in the field of art, education and tourism.”
A joint cultural programs will be held prominently under the MoU, including arts celebrations, music, dances, exhibitions, film screening, catering and other programs related to culture. A dedicated Indo-French cultural calendar will be prepared every year. Also, the state tourism promotional material will be translated into French and special efforts will be made to attract French tourists. Tourism sector officials and guides will also be trained in French language and culture.
