New Delhi. The Indian cricket team has to play a Test series against Bangladesh from next month. After the ODI series played in Sri Lanka, India has got a long break of 43 days. Meanwhile, BCCI has asked everyone except some star players including captain Rohit Sharma to play domestic cricket. It is being told that keeping the workload in mind, fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah can be given rest against Bangladesh. In his place, Mohammed Shami, who is returning from injury, can be seen taking charge of the bowling.
A two-Test series is to begin between India and Bangladesh from 19 September. The first match is to be played in Chennai. According to a report by the Indian Express, Indian fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah can be rested in this series. This veteran, who was the hero of India’s victory in the ICC T20 World Cup, can get more breaks due to workload. Bumrah has not played in any series since India became the world champion. India toured Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka after the T20 World Cup. Veterans like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made a comeback in the ODI series.
Bumrah rested, Shami returns
If reports are to be believed, fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who has been out for a long time due to injury, may return in the Bangladesh Test series. This experienced bowler has not taken the field since the November 2023 ODI World Cup Final. Team India’s new coach Gautam Gambhir has already said that Jasprit Bumrah is very special for Team India. His workload should be worked on in a better way. Team India’s bowling will get strengthened after Mohammed Shami is fit.
