Match between England and Scotland cancelled
The match between Scotland and England has been cancelled due to rain. Scotland scored 90 runs without any loss in 10 overs in the rain affected match due to the brilliant batting of opener batsmen Michael Jones (45 not out) and Jors Munsey (41 not out). England had got a target of 109 runs in 10 overs to win as per Duckworth Lewis rule but as soon as Scotland’s innings ended, it started raining again and the umpires decided to cancel the match. Earlier also, this match was disrupted twice due to rain. After the toss, the match started with a delay of about half an hour due to rain and a part of the pitch being wet. Rain again disrupted the seventh over of Scotland’s innings. When the game resumed after the rain, the match was reduced to 10-10 overs.
Tim Pringle took three wickets
Man of the Match Tim Pringle took three wickets for 20 runs against Nepal while Logan van Beek took three wickets for 18 runs. Paul van Meekeren and Bas Dalliday got two wickets each. Netherlands captain Scott Edwards’ decision of bowling first after winning the toss was proved right by his bowlers and they kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Captain Rohit Paudel scored the highest 35 runs for Nepal. He hit five fours in his 37-ball innings. Apart from him, no other player could perform well. Karan KC (17) and Gulshan Jha (14) played short innings and took the team past 100 runs.
This batsman scored a half century
While chasing the target, Netherlands did not have a good start. There was a setback when Michael Levitt (one run) was dismissed in the second over. He became the victim of Sompal. Max O’Dowd (54 runs) and Vikramjit Singh (22 runs) then batted carefully and took the team’s score to 36 runs for one wicket in the powerplay. Dipendra dismissed Vikramjit in the ninth over. Sybrand Engelbrecht scored 14 runs and Bas de Leede scored 11 runs for Netherlands.
