Solar Eclipse 2024: The first solar eclipse of the year is going to occur on 8 April 2024 i.e. today. This astronomical event happening today will be visible only in Western Europe, Pacific, Atlantic, Arctic, Mexico, North America, Canada, Central America, northern parts of South America, North West region of England and Ireland. According to Indian Standard Time (IST), the total solar eclipse will begin at 9:12 pm on April 8 and end at 2:22 am on April 9. There will be darkness in America for about four minutes.

It is noteworthy that, every year there can be two to five solar eclipses in the world but a total eclipse occurs only once in every 18 months. This time the total solar eclipse will cross North America via Mexico, United States and Canada.
