A case of shocking humanity has come to light from Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, where a young woman has accused the pressure of conversion and threatening to kill him after the gangrape. The victim is wandering from rate to rate for justice, but till now she has not received satisfactory hearing at any level. Disappointed with the functioning of the police, the victim met SP City Vyom Bindal on Friday and demanded permission from the accused to take revenge on themselves.
Gang rape and poor investigation system
The victim said that on 13 December 2023, she was gangraped by three youths. He complained about this serious matter from local police officers to CM portal, but no concrete action was taken. According to the victim, on 26 April 2024, she also went to the Janata Durbar in Lucknow, where the police were instructed to take appropriate action, accepting her application. Despite this, the Countryside Kotwali police did not take any concrete steps.
“Punish me, I will take revenge”
The victim, who has been broken in the hope of justice, told the officials in the police line, “If you cannot give justice, then allow me to be punished, I will take revenge on the accused myself.” This statement not only reflects his suffering but also raises questions on law and order.
Continuation of threat and harassment continues
The victim said that on 27 April she was beaten up badly and the electricity of her house was also cut off. When she reached the power house to complain, she was asked to bring a letter from the head and file a file. When she went to the Pradhan, the conversion was pressurized and threatened to kill him.
SP City ordered an inquiry
Reacting to the entire case, SP City Vyom Bindal has said that the woman’s complaint has been taken seriously and the case will be investigated. Appropriate action will be ensured according to the law. However, the victim alleges that the police administration is only giving assurance, but action at the ground level is zero.
The case not only exposes the heinous crime with a woman, but also shows how the delay in the legal process and the inactivity of the police leads the victim to the thinking of self-practice. Now it has to be seen whether the Saharanpur police takes the voice of the victim seriously this time or the matter will remain buried in another file.
