Delhi Police: This incident took place in Kotla Mubarakpur area of South Delhi. Kotla Mubarakpur police station received information about the kidnapping of an eight-year-old girl at around 3 pm on Monday afternoon through a PCR call. As soon as the information is received, a team from Kotla Mubarakpur police station reaches the spot, where the police personnel meet the father of the kidnapped girl. He tells the police that his eight-year-old daughter was playing outside the house, meanwhile an unknown person came and took his daughter and left from there.
The father of the kidnapped girl told the police that he tried hard to find his daughter, but she was nowhere to be found. Finally, he called the police control room and requested to find his daughter. On the complaint of the father of the kidnapped girl, KM police station registered an FIR under section 363 of the IPC and started searching for the girl. Clues of the girl were found but…
South District Police Deputy Commissioner Ankit Chauhan said that a police team first started in-depth interrogation of other family members and relatives keeping in mind the issue of personal enmity. Also, the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area was started. After a long investigation, the police team found a person roaming in the area under suspicious circumstances. CCTV footage revealed that the man had come from South X-1 bus stop and took the girl in the same direction.
According to DCP Ankit Chauhan, after examining the CCTV footage, it was found that this suspicious youth had boarded the DTC bus from Safdarjung Hospital and got down at the South Extension part. Meanwhile, the police sent the photo of this person to all the possible WhatsApp groups including all the police stations of Delhi. This exercise of the police came in handy and they got information that this suspicious person was seen with a child near Qutub Minar metro station. He boarded a bus with the girl going towards Andheria Mod.

According to DCP Ankit Chauhan, based on this information a search operation was conducted in all possible areas around Andheria Mode. During the search operation, the police not only identified the suspect but also reached his house. The police team recovered the girl safely from the house of the accused. The police have also arrested the person who kidnapped the girl. The accused person has been identified as Arjun alias Umar. Police interrogation of the accused person is still going on.
DCP Ankit Chauhan said that the investigation so far has revealed that the accused Arjun alias Umar is originally a resident of Kuber Nagar in Ahmedabad (Gujarat). He is illiterate and unmarried. He lived alone in this house located at Andheria Mor. He told that he works in making toys for children. In this connection, he had gone to Kotla Mubarakpur to collect glass, from where he had kidnapped the girl.
