The Government of India took bold steps by passing the Waqf Bill, poor Muslims will benefit: Maulana Shahabuddin Rajvi

Bareilly . Maulana Shahabuddin Rajvi Barelvi, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, has welcomed the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 passed in the Lok Sabha. He described this bill as a good step taken by the Government of India towards ending evil. Maulana said that poor and weak Muslims will benefit from this bill. Maulana Shahabuddin said, “I thank all the MPs who voted in favor of this bill. I also congratulate the Government of India that he took this bold step.”
He pointed to the disturbances spread in the Waqf Board, saying that earlier the chairman and members of the board, along with the land mafia, used to sell crores of land or grab themselves.
He said, “Waqf makers were intended that the income from his property was spent on poor, destitute, widows and orphans Muslims. But this was not happening. This money was not happening. The people of the board used to put it in their pockets. Now we hope that there will be some good change in the economic situation of poor Muslims.”
Describing this bill as a step towards transparency and improvement, Maulana said that it would prevent misuse of Waqf properties and it will be used correctly for the weaker sections of the society.
He also said, “Inshallah, now the situation will change and a new path will open for poor Muslims.”
Please tell that the Waqf (Amendment) Bill was passed in the 2025 Lok Sabha. Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced the Bill in the House on Wednesday and while responding to the discussion, he said that it is in the interest of the Muslim community.
The Bill was approved by the House by 232 votes against 288. The meeting of the House lasted till about two o’clock in the night to pass this important bill and then passed away.
After the discussion, when Kiren Rijiju proposed to consider the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, some members of the opposition demanded a division of votes. 288 votes were cast in its favor and 232 votes in protest. However, after clearing the lobby, there was a dispute over letting many members enter the House.
