The traffic management control unit will be equipped with 360 terabytes of recording server storage. The server will also be equipped with 240 terabyte recording storage for backup recordings. It will be equipped with VMS license to operate 890 cameras including GPS tracker.
New Delhi. The Uttar Pradesh government is working on the process of equipping the state’s expressway routes with state-of-the-art facilities. Now the name of another expressway is going to be added to this list. By equipping the expressway with state-of-the-art facilities, the facilities available to the passengers are increasing. At the same time, the process of providing safe monitoring to logistics related traffic in the state has also improved.
In this sequence, a detailed action plan was prepared and by implementing it, the process of equipping the Bundelkhand Expressway with a modern traffic management system (ATMS) has been started. According to a statement issued on Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has implemented this process and has sought applications through Request for Qualification (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP).

What facilities will be available
According to the statement, the action plan that has been prepared to make Bundelkhand Expressway ITMS compatible includes the establishment of a traffic management command center. This will strengthen the traffic monitoring and management process. The Traffic Management Control (TMC) unit will be equipped with 360 terabyte recording server storage. For backup recording, the server will also be equipped with 240 terabyte recording storage.
There will be 24 hour surveillance through cameras
The TMC unit will be equipped with facility monitoring system controller, graphic display, internet and SMS server, fibre channel host and USB joystick controlled PTZ cameras, emergency telephone helpline console, Aadhaar based biometric fingerprint scanner machine for staff, surge protection device, lightning protection unit, advanced driver advisory system, GPS tracker and VMS license for operation of 890 cameras.
The camera will run for 96 hours on a single charge
In the current process, 150 VIDS based cameras will be installed at 50 different locations to make Bundelkhand Expressway ATMS compatible. These cameras will be unique and will run on solar energy and will have the capability to operate for up to 96 hours on a single charge. Under the scheme, PTZ cameras with CCTV controller will be installed on Bundelkhand Expressway.
If you drive at high speed, you will get a challan at home
Motion detection surveillance cameras and vehicle speed detection systems will be installed on both sides of the Bundelkhand Expressway. This will issue an alert regarding vehicles moving at high speed and the control room will be able to track it immediately. In this sequence, 90 meter range speed detection radars will also prove to be effective, the process of installing which will also be completed simultaneously. Vehicles moving at high speed will be challaned through electronic means.
