It is a wild fruit that cannot be cultivated, because it grows on its own in fields and forests. It is said that during the exile, Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshman resorted to the forest for their livelihood and consumed whatever was available from there. After eating it, one did not feel hungry soon. It is claimed that eating Kandmool fruit kept the stomach full for a long time and provided energy.

According to Dr. Paras (Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery) working in Ayushman Hostel, this fruit is full of medicinal properties. He said that Kandmool fruit is rich in calcium, iron and vitamin C. Also, this fruit is an immunity booster, which can be consumed even in cold and cough. Consuming Kandmool fruit removes iron deficiency in the body. Also, hemoglobin increases. Vitamin C is found in the fruit. It proves helpful in reducing cholesterol. The price of this whole fruit is Rs 15000. At the same time, one piece of it is for 20 rupees and 3 pieces are for 50 rupees.
