Jodhpur. The confluence of ancient faith and devotion, on Monday, was seen in the Gundeshwar Mahadev Temple situated between the picturesque hills of Mehrangarh. The Patotsav (Foundation Day) of the temple was celebrated with traditional devotional expressions amidst the shouts of Har-Har Mahadev, Samvat Mantracharan of Rudri readers and sweet swells of Naubat-Khanhani.
Surya Prakash Thanvi, secretary of the Environment Development Committee, informed that the event started in the morning with Rudri recitation and Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva in connection with Acharya Ankit Changani. During this time, special makeup of the Shiva family was done and Prasadi was distributed to the devotees by offering bhog.
Committee chairman Gurudutt Purohit, Govind Purohit, Rajkumar Sharma (Shailu) and Vipin Purohit said that the entire temple complex was decorated with attractive lights by the temple in -charge Keshav Thanvi. Maharati was organized with 108 lamps on a special occasion, whose divinity overwhelmed the devotees present.
The active participation of youth in making this religious event a success was notable. The youth team including Mahendra Purohit, Lalit Thanvi, Dr. Robin, Raunak Sharma, Munesh, Vivek, Tushar, East, Rudra, Yuga, Honey, Naitik, Aditya gave a grand appearance to the Patotsav by supporting the entire event.
A large number of devotees were present on the occasion and experienced the association with religion and culture by getting absorbed in Shiva worship. The mantras named Shiva echoing in the hills of Mehrangarh drenched the entire atmosphere with devotional juice.
