The issue of exodus of Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir has once again heated up. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday hit out at the Congress in the Lok Sabha, referring to the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ depicting the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley. Sitharaman said a photograph of a man allegedly involved in the killing of an Air Force officer meeting a former prime minister had also surfaced. Congress should answer this.
The Union Finance Minister said in Parliament that the Congress party should answer that a separatist, who admitted that he had killed an Indian Air Force officer, was invited by the then Prime Minister of India and he shook hands with him.

The truth of those times in Kashmir should be remembered
Responding to a discussion in the Lok Sabha on the Supplementary Demands for Grants for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the fiscal year 2022-23 and for the fiscal year 2021-22, Sitharaman said that while talking about ‘Kashmir Files’ The truth should be remembered that when so much was happening to the Hindus, how did they come out of it. Despite this, the things that are coming out show denial of the situation, he said.
Taking a jibe at the Congress, he claimed that it was told from the official Twitter handle of the Congress party that Kashmiri Pandits left on their own volition and to take some advantage in Delhi.
‘CM had gone abroad leaving Hindus on their fate’
The Finance Minister alleged that when Kashmiri Pandits were facing such troubles, there was a National Conference-led government in Jammu and Kashmir and the Congress party was involved in it. He also alleged that the then Chief Minister left the Hindus on their fate and went abroad. The Union Minister said that the Twitter handle of the opposition party on the subject speaks volumes of its intention to deny the truth.
