Free Aadhaar update : If you have missed the opportunity to update your Aadhaar card for free, then this is a good opportunity for you. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar card details for free. According to UIDAI, Aadhaar card holders can update their Aadhaar card details without any fees till September 14. Aadhaar card update is being done for free on My Aadhaar portal. Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number, which is given to Indian citizens on the basis of biometric and demographic information. You can easily update Aadhaar offline. For this, you will have to go to the nearest Aadhaar center. You will have to pay a fee of Rs 50 for updating Aadhaar offline.
What updates can be done
This free service is available only on My Aadhaar portal. If you upload any document after the deadline, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50. Even if you submit the document physically, you will have to pay this fee. You can easily change your photo, address, gender, name, date of birth and address etc. in the Aadhaar card. You can also change the mobile number and email linked to Aadhaar.

- Step 3. After this your profile will appear. Now update the information you want to change.
- Step 4. Now attach its proof and submit it. The size of the document should not be less than 2 MB. The file format should be JPEG, PNG or PDF.
You don’t have to pay anything as there are no charges. You can update only those details online which do not require demographic update.
