New Delhi. Violence and bomb blasts have vitiated the atmosphere in West Bengal during the last and seventh phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections today, leading to widespread panic. Reports from various places, including Jadavpur, Sandeshkhali and South 24 Parganas, highlight serious disturbances that have disrupted the polling process. Incidents of bomb blasts have been reported in Bhawanipur area of Jadavpur. Several crude bombs were found lying on the streets, causing panic among residents. Security forces had to use force to control the situation. Supporters of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Trinamool Congress have accused each other of launching attacks. Bomb-making material was recovered at several places. Apart from this, the mob also pelted stones at policemen trying to control the crowd.
Clash between TMC and BJP supporters in Sandeshkhali
A fierce clash broke out between TMC and Bharatiya Janata Party supporters in Sandeshkhali. During the clash, a BJP supporter suffered a serious head injury, and it is alleged that TMC supporters carried out the incident. South 24 TMC women workers threw EVMs into water in Pargana
