A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Dumma village of Bihra police station area of Saharsa district of Bihar, in which a 16 -year -old girl committed suicide when she did not find a lehenga during her sister’s wedding at her own house. The incident proved to be shocking not only for a family, but for the entire village.
According to the incident, the deceased Aarti Kumari wished to wear a lehenga at her sister’s wedding, but the family did not fulfill her wish. Aarti repeatedly demanded to wear a lehenga at her sister’s wedding, but the family refused to scold her. After this, Aarti became so angry that she ate a bullet of insects in the wheat kept in the house.
Before this move of Aarti, the family members described it as a case of mental stress, but when investigation was done, the real reason came to light. Aarti, who was studying at a premium coaching center in Saharsa city, was insisted on wearing a lehenga during her sister’s wedding. The coaching center’s friends reported that it took this step only for not getting the lehenga.
Aarti’s family told the police after his death in the hospital that the girl was mentally unstable and was under stress to not pay coaching fees. However, the students of the coaching center said that there was no pressure of fees on Aarti, and they took this step when they did not get the lehenga.
The entire village is immersed in mourning due to Aarti’s death and this incident has raised the question of how a small thing, such as a lehenga to wear in a wedding, can have such a profound impact on someone’s mental state.
