RBI The Indian stock market saw a lot of volatility on Thursday amid the decision of the monetary policy of RBI. RBI has once again decided not to make any change in the key interest rate repo rate. Due to this the Indian stock market closed with a decline. The Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex closed at 78,886 today with a decline of 0.73 percent i.e. 581 points. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty closed at 24,117 today with a decline of 0.74 percent i.e. 180 points. At the time of market closing, out of 50 Nifty stocks, 9 stocks were in the green mark and 41 stocks were in the red mark.
These stocks fell the most
The biggest losers in the Nifty pack on Thursday were LTI Mindtree (4.09%), Grasim (3.60%), Asian Paints (3.37%), Apollo Hospitals (3.09%) and Infosys (2.94%). The biggest gainers on Thursday were Tata Motors (1.63%), HDFC Life (1.57%), SBI Life (1.22%), Cipla (1.06%) and HDFC Bank (1.03%).
Status of sectoral indices
Talking about sectoral indices, Midsmall Healthcare rose by 0.90 percent, Nifty Healthcare by 0.13 percent, Nifty Private Bank by 0.09 percent, Nifty Pharma by 0.35 percent, Nifty Media by 0.24 percent, Nifty Financial Services by 0.15 percent and Nifty Bank by 0.08 percent. Apart from this, Nifty Auto fell by 0.08 percent, Nifty FMCG by 0.45 percent, Nifty IT by 1.90 percent, Nifty Metal by 1.74 percent, Nifty PSU Bank by 0.78 percent, Nifty Realty by 1.21 percent, Nifty Consumer Durables by 0.83 percent and Nifty Oil & Gas by 1.32 percent.
