Nikhil Swami/Bikaner:- Many times people drink cow and buffalo milk for a healthy body. But camel milk is also considered very good and beneficial. It contains protein, zinc, iron and also has less fat as compared to the milk of other animals. This milk is very thin as compared to the milk of other animals. Drinking this camel milk cures major and serious diseases.
Camel milk is now being used in medicine at the National Camel Research Center in Bikaner. The scientists of the center are engaged in research for this. Camel milk has proved effective in many diseases and research is still going on on many diseases.
It gives strength equal to mother’s milk
Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sawal, the head scientist at the National Camel Research Center, told Local18 that camel milk is full of medicinal properties. Compared to the milk of other animals, its milk is thinner and the fat content is also 2 percent. This camel milk is easily digested. This milk also contains 3 percent protein. This camel milk is considered to be equal to mother’s milk. Here at the center, camel milk is available for Rs 60 per kg. Camel milk is pasteurized, after which the milk is packaged. This camel milk has a high amount of vitamin C, which is also 10 to 15 percent. It also contains more zinc and iron.

Use as per medicine
Sawal further told Local18 that camel milk is also used in medicine. Many scientists and doctors have done research on it. It is very useful for people suffering from sugar, BP, TB, typhoid, malaria, mental illness. Currently scientists are doing research on this milk on dengue. Sawal expressed concern over the decreasing number of camels and said that camel milk should be used as medicine, so that the number of camels increases as much as possible.
Not just one but more than 25 types of products have been prepared from camel milk so far. From sweets to millets, everything is prepared from camel milk. Many items including flavoured camel milk, rabri, ghee, buttermilk, curd, lassi, gulab jamun, barfi, chocolate, chocolate barfi, cheese, peda, paneer, rasgulla, cream, milk powder, kulfi, ice cream, coffee are prepared from camel milk at the centre.
