New Delhi/Thiruvananthapuram/Bhubaneswar/Kolkata/Ranchi. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued an alert about the rain due to the effect of the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal. IMD had advised to be especially cautious in coastal areas. Meteorologists had also issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rains in some areas due to the formation of a cyclonic system in the Bay of Bengal. Now its effect is visible. There has been torrential rain from Odisha to West Bengal, Jharkhand and the northeastern states. On the other hand, an alert has been issued for torrential rains with strong winds in Kerala.
