PM-KISAN, launched in 2019, is a direct benefit transfer (DBT) initiative. Under this, beneficiary farmers receive an annual amount of Rs 6,000 in three equal installments to meet their financial needs. Chauhan said that since the launch of the scheme, the Center has distributed an amount of more than Rs 3.04 lakh crore to more than 11 crore farmers across the country.
100 day road map is being prepared
The government is preparing a 100-day plan for the agriculture sector, emphasising its commitment towards the welfare of farmers and overall development of the agriculture scenario in the country. So far, more than 34,000 Krishi Sakhis out of the targeted 70,000 have been certified as para-extension workers in 12 states- Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Meghalaya.

Modi will also distribute certificates to over 30,000 members of self-help groups (SHGs) who have been trained as Krishi Sakhis so that they can work as para-extension workers and help fellow farmers in farming. The Agriculture Minister also highlighted the Krishi Sakhi Yojana, a collaborative effort with the Rural Development Ministry. The scheme aims to train 90,000 women from self-help groups as semi-extension agricultural workers to help the farming community and earn additional income.
