Tonk. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot said that due to our democracy fighters, the constitution and democracy are alive today. The then government had to bow down 50 years before their struggle and courage. The aim behind celebrating this day is that our future generations know how much democracy fighters tortured to save democracy.
The Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment was addressing the Constitution Day -2025 program organized on Wednesday in Tonk Municipal Council Auditorium on completion of 50 years of Emergency in the country. On this occasion, he also respected democracy fighters.
Avinash Gehlot said that whenever an attempt was made to weaken our democracy, then the people of the country have united how strong the roots of democracy are. During the Emergency, there were many challenges in front of democracy. The freedom of the press was abolished. People’s freedom was banned. Despite this, our democracy was revived after 21 months of struggle. He said that the name of democracy fighters has been recorded forever on the pages of history and today we are feeling proud to honor them.
Gehlot said that the country is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is working with the development of all sections, everyone’s development, faith and the spirit of welfare of all. He said that we should all discharge duties with our rights.
Democracy fighters honored
Cabinet Minister Gehlot honored the democracy fighters present in the program by garlanding them and wearing a shawl. On this occasion, a short film based on the sacrifice, dedication and courage of democracy fighters was shown during the Emergency.
During this, Deoli-Uniyara MLA Rajendra Gurjar, Niwai-Piplu MLA Ramsahay Verma, District Collector Kalpana Aggarwal and other public representatives, officers and democracy fighters were present.
