Mahashivratri: Damage to Mahakal temple committee on Mahaparv
Ujjain (Naiduniya Representative). In Jyotirlinga Mahakal temple, this time the number of devotees on Mahashivratri was three times more than in previous years, but despite the arrival of such number of devotees, there was no good sale of darshan tickets and laddu prasad. Therefore, the temple committee has suffered as compared to the previous years. If we look at the figures of the last three years, this time the sale of darshan tickets and laddu prasad was very less than the value of the devotees.
According to the temple administration, the temple committee has received Rs 2 lakh 750 from the sale of early darshan tickets on Mahashivratri in the year 2022. At the same time, an income of 15 lakh 85 thousand has been earned from the sale of laddu prasad. Whereas this time more than 2 lakh devotees have seen Lord Mahakal on Mahashivratri. In the year 2021, on Mahashivratri, more than 70 thousand devotees had darshan of Lord Mahakal. Despite this, the committee had received 21 lakh 76 thousand 250 rupees from the early darshan ticket. At the same time, an income of Rs 13 lakh 54 thousand 470 was earned from the sale of laddu prasad. In the year 2020, the committee had received 9 lakh 50 thousand rupees from early darshan tickets and 21 lakh rupees in two days from the sale of laddu prasad.
Here’s the reason…
Huge difference in income of early darshan tickets
2021: Due to the corona infection, the temple committee had implemented darshan system on the basis of advance booking for general visitors on Mahashivratri. The number of seats in advance booking was very less. That’s why hundreds of devotees had darshan of Lord Mahakal by buying early darshan tickets worth Rs 250.
2022: After the end of the corona ban, arrangements were made to conveniently provide darshan of Lord Mahakal to the common visitors. From the front of the Chardham temple, a queue of visitors with normal and early darshan tickets was put together. That’s why people did not show interest in buying tickets.
The sales of laddu prasad were also low.
2021: The temple committee had put up several counters of Rs 250 early darshan tickets and laddu prasad in front of the Chardham temple. Due to this arrangement, only laddu prasad worth Rs 13 lakh 54 thousand 470 was sold despite the arrival of more than 70 thousand devotees.
2022: This time the temple committee had put up different counters of laddu prasad at places like Chardham, Harsiddhi, Karkaraj parking etc. This scheme completely failed and despite the presence of more than 2 lakh devotees, 15 lakh 85 thousand prasad was sold.
