Jamui. Police have arrested three people including the son of the headman in the case of the murderous attack on the Panchayat Raj Officer of Sono block of Jamui district of Bihar by pulling him out of the car. According to the police, the BPRO was beaten up in anger over the show cause notice issued to the headman and panchayat secretary of Sono regarding the withdrawal of Rs 31 lakh.
Actually this incident happened last Friday when the Block Panchayat Raj Officer was returning to Jamui after finishing his work from Sono. Then near Kendua in Khaira police station area, five to six masked people first stopped the vehicle of Block Panchayat Raj Officer Upendra Kumar Verma and then took him out of the vehicle and beat him up. The Panchayat Raj Officer was seriously injured in the incident of assault by masked people in a filmy style.
In this incident, the driver of the officer was also beaten up. After the incident, the District DM met the injured officer to inquire about his well-being. On the statement of the injured Block Panchayat Raj Officer, the police registered a case and took action, after which the police arrested three people and sent them to jail. The arrested people include Rishi Kumar, Ashish Ranjan alias Gandhi and Prince Kumar. Rishi Kumar is said to be the son of the head of Sono Panchayat.
Regarding the reason for the incident of assault on the officer in a filmy style, Jhajja SDPO Rajesh has informed that about 31 lakh rupees were withdrawn in the year 22-23, signed jointly by the Panchayat Secretary Ramswaroop Singh and the current Mukhiya Rekha Devi. The Block Panchayat Raj Officer had demanded a written order to bring documents against the withdrawal, after which the Panchayat Secretary and Mukhiya were angry. This was the reason for planning and under which the incident was carried out. The police has given information about the arrests in the case through a press conference. The police also said that the arrested people have accepted their involvement in the incident.
