According to the information, an army doctor saved the life of a seriously ill 27-year-old man on a Pune-Chandigarh flight by resuscitating him. Major Simrat Rajdeep Singh, Medical Officer of Army’s Western Command Hospital, Chandimandir (Haryana), said that on Monday, when he was going from Pune to Chandigarh by an Indigo flight, a co-passenger who had boarded the plane from Goa started having trouble breathing in the air at an altitude of 39,000 feet.

The passenger had kidney problems
Major Simrat Rajdeep Singh said on Tuesday, ‘I asked the patient’s brother, who was travelling with him, about his past medical history, who hails from Belgaum. The medical report revealed that the patient has a small kidney and it does not function properly.’ The Army doctor said that he was also suffering from high BP and heart problems. He was breathing fast and he also started panting slowly. He further said that the crew members had most of the necessary equipment and medicines available in their medical emergency kit. Major Singh said that they gave the necessary emergency medicines to the patient and kept him on continuous oxygen support for an hour.
Indigo flight makes emergency landing in Mumbai
Major Singh requested the captain to reduce the altitude of the plane and make an emergency landing at the nearest place, as Chandigarh was still two hours away. He said that since Mumbai was the nearest airport, the plane had to be landed here in an emergency. Meanwhile, preparations were made to take the patient to the hospital as soon as the plane landed. The patient was taken to RN Cooper Hospital run by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The Western Command of the Indian Army gave this information in a post on ‘X’ on Monday.
