A few years ago, he had told about this in an interview that apart from doing daily yoga, distance from sex and issues is the secret of his longevity.
Swami Sivananda had told that he stays away from sex and does not even consume spices. Apart from this, doing yoga daily is a part of his life. According to Sivananda’s passport, he was born on August 8, 1896. Born at the end of the 19th century, Swami Sivananda is today honored in 2022 of the 21st century. In this way he has become 126 years old and has seen three centuries. He still does yoga for hours. Born in a very poor family, Swami Sivananda had chosen the path of sannyas. Apart from this, he dedicated his life to Yoga and Indian way of life.
Do not even consume milk and fruits
In a conversation with news agency AFP in Kolkata, Swami Sivananda had said, ‘I live a simple and disciplined life. I eat very simple food, which consists only of boiled food. It does not contain any kind of oil or spices. I usually eat lentils, rice and green chillies. Swami Sivananda, 5 feet 2 inches tall, sleeps only on a mat. Not only this, he says that I do not even eat milk and fruits because these are fancy food. I have even slept hungry many times in my childhood. Even on the claim of himself being the world’s longest person, he said that I never believe in propaganda, but my followers said that I should make such a claim.
Even today, they travel alone in the train, their parents passed away at the age of 6
Swami Sivananda lost his parents at the age of just 6 years. He was then handed over by his relatives to a spiritual master, with whom he traveled across the country. He is still very fit and often travels alone in the train. Born in the British Raj, Shivanand says that even today he has no interest in joining technology and is leading life in the old fashioned way. He gives importance to a contented life. Swami Sivananda says, ‘Earlier people used to be happy with less things. Today people are unhappy, ill and honesty has also decreased. This hurts me a lot. I want people to be happy, healthy and lead a peaceful life.
