Rohit Bhatt/ Almora. Students of 10th and 12th board are now waiting for the results. Children remain very nervous during this time. They start getting nervous as the result date approaches. They start feeling stressed and start thinking various negative thoughts in their mind. At this time, the role of parents and elders in the house becomes even more important. Dr. Veena Tejan, psychiatrist of Almora Medical College, Uttarakhand, tells in a special conversation with Local 18 that students are very nervous about the results of board exams. Apart from this, many hormonal changes are also seen in them. During this period, the burden of further studies on children is also seen to be maximum. Due to this they start living under mental stress.
He said that today education is viewed differently in our society. Today studies have been linked to competition. The skill development that should have taken place in children seems to be almost ending. He believes that many parents compare their children with others’ children. Many times, parents start comparing their children with the children of their own family, due to which a lot of negative impact is seen in the children. At this time, parents and their family members should spend more time with children and talk to them. If girls from rural areas fail in the board exams, they are sent to their homes. And after one or two years they are married, whereas this should not happen.
How to keep children stress free?
Psychiatrist Veena Tejan told that after the board exam results, if your child is trying to stay alone and is not talking. If he is coming home late or is feeling intoxicated, then you need to talk to him. There is a need to keep an eye on him. Parents and their families can spend more time with their children. If he is taking wrong steps, then you can talk to him or go to a psychiatrist and talk to him.
