According to ESPNcricinfo report, Mujeeb Ur Rahman’s hand injury is troubling him. His hand is sprained. Due to this, he will not be able to play any match in the T20 World Cup 2024. Due to injury, he could not play in IPL 2024 as well. Mujeeb played the opening match for Afghanistan against Uganda. But he was not part of the playing XI in the remaining two matches. Noor Ahmed played in the playing XI in his place. Noor took 1-1 wickets against New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
Hazratullah Zazai joins the Afghanistan squad
Opener Hazratullah Zazai has been included in the Afghanistan team in place of Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The ICC has confirmed that their event technical committee has approved the replacement after Afghanistan’s victory over Papua New Guinea. Zazai has so far scored 1138 runs in 43 T20I matches for the Afghan team, including one century and three half-centuries. He will strengthen the team’s batting order. He has not played any T20I since February, but participated in the last two T20 World Cups.
