A case of suicide has come to light due to moral policing in Kannur district of Kerala. Kannur District Police has arrested three people in the case of suicide of a woman. Among the accused, the woman was allegedly humiliated for talking to her male friend. All three accused are SDPI workers. In the suicide note of the woman, the accused were written by VC Mubashir, KA Faisal and VK Rafnaaz. After arresting these three were produced in court and sent to judicial custody.
What did the police say?
Police saw the suspects near a hospital in Thalassery during a regular investigation, after which they were arrested. Police have confirmed that the three accused are SDPI workers. Initial investigations have revealed that some other people were involved in the case, the investigation is on to find out the involvement of others.
What was the whole incident?
Actually, the entire incident took place on 15 June. Rasina, a resident of Kayalod, was seen talking to her male friend near the roadside car. It is being told that some local people argued with both. He asked- ‘Why are you talking?’ And mentally tortured them. He forced the woman to return home and took the young man hostage. He was then taken to a nearby SDPI office, where he was allegedly tied and beaten. The group also searched his car and seized his mobile phone and tablet.
The harassment continued for several hours. The next night, on June 16, Rasina committed suicide at her home, in her suicide note she gave details of her mental trauma and blamed the people of SDPI for her death. After which these three accused were arrested. Meanwhile, it is also revealed that the woman’s gold and money were allegedly with her male friend. When the local people asked him to return it, he allegedly refused.
