A surprising case of forced recovery has come to light in Delhi. In Sultanpur area of South Delhi, a woman allegedly stole her husband’s mobile phone with the help of two people to erase the ‘intimate photos’ of her and her lover. An official gave this information on Friday. He said that on June 19, two miscreants allegedly snatched the mobile and both were absconding from the same day.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan said that a rapist named Ankit Gehlot (27) has been arrested, who told the police that the woman was in a relationship with another person and her husband’s phone had pictures of both of them (women and her lover). “To get back and erase photos, the woman planned the robbery,” he said.
He said that the woman told both the miscreants about her husband’s daily movement and work hours, who allegedly snatched the phone on 19 June and ran away. The DCP said that the police had received a call about the stolen mobile. “The complainant told the police that two masked miscreants riding on the scooter snatched his phone and ran away.”
The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that after the crime, both stayed in a hotel in Old Delhi to avoid arrest. Police said the woman has been arrested, while the search for another absconding partner is on.
