New Delhi . Prime Minister Narendra transmitted deep sorrow over the death of Pope Francis. He said that Pope Francis would be remembered for compassion, humility and spiritual courage in the world. Pope Francis died on Monday (April 21) at his residence in Casa Santa Marta of Vatican.
In his condolence message on X, PM Modi said, “I was deeply saddened by the demise of Param Holiness Pope Francis. In this hour of sorrow and remembrance, my heartfelt condolences to the global Catholic community.” He said, “Pope Francis will always remember millions of people around the world as a symbol of compassion, humility and spiritual courage.”
The Prime Minister said, “From a young age, he dedicated himself in realizing the ideals of Lord Jesus Christ. He served the poor and the underprivileged. For those who were suffering, they raised hope of hope.
World leaders have mourned the death of Pope Francis. Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said in a post on the social media platform X: “I mourn the demise of Pope Francis. Peace, social justice and their commitment to the most committed people have left a deep legacy.”
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said, “This news is going to give us a lot of grief.” “I got their friendship good luck,” he said in the statement.
Meloni said, “He once again asked the world to show the direction to change the direction, asked to follow a path that ‘does not destroy, heals, protects, protects. Their education and their legacy will never end.”
Tribute to French President Emmanuel Macron Pope Francis, he described him as “humble person who stood in favor of the weakest and most delicate people.”
Francis was suffering from chronic lung disease. One of his lungs was removed in puberty. He was admitted to the hospital on 14 February 2025 due to shortness of breath, which later turned into double pneumonia. He spent 38 days there.
On Sunday, Pope Francis called for freedom and tolerance of consideration in his address of Easter Sunday.
After wishing a crowd of over 35,000 people from Basilica’s balcony, Francis handed over the work of reading the blessing of his traditional “ate at orbi” (“for the city and the world”) to a colleague.
He said in the speech, “There cannot be peace without freedom of religion, freedom of thought, freedom of expression and respect for others’ ideas.” He also condemned the “worrying” anti-Jewish and ‘dramatic and condemnable’ situation in Gaza.
