On July 5, Delhi Police arrested the accused from the flood police station area of Bihar in the case of murder of youth Naushad by stabbing a knife in Kirti Nagar police station area of West Delhi. The accused has been identified as Sameer. The police team reached a village in Bihar after traveling about 1200 km from Delhi to catch him. The help of technical monitoring was taken to find out the location of the accused.

DCP Western Bizarre Veer said that during interrogation, Sameer told the police that his wife had befriended Naushad. When Sameer was suspicious, he investigated and planned to remove Naushad from the road when the information was confirmed. On 5 July, Sameer attacked Naushad with a knife and injured him.

After the incident, he escaped and reached the flood while going to Patna. According to the police, the murder took place on the side of the railway line near Kamla Nehru Camp in Kirti Nagar police station area. The seriously injured Naushad was admitted to a nearby hospital, where he told the police that Sameer, who lives in his neighborhood, attacked him. Naushad died during treatment. Under the supervision of ACP Punjabi Bagh Vijay Kumar, the team of Kirti Nagar SHO Sanjeev Dodhi and Inspector Pradeep Sharma started the investigation.
