Katrua vegetable is banned
Katrua is found in the forests of Pilibhit and Lakhimpur. It is found near the roots of teak and sal trees. Farmers dig it out risking their lives. Its price in the market is even higher than mutton. It is sold for 800 rupees to 1 thousand rupees per kg. Its vegetable is very tasty and nutritious. However, no matter how protein-rich and tasty this vegetable is, there is a ban on going to the forest and extracting katrua. Still, the nearby villagers dig it out risking their lives with the connivance of the department.
