Home Minister Amit Shah was making a record of winning by more than 7 lakh 11 thousand votes, when the news came that BJP candidate from Indore, Shankar Lalwani, is leading by more than 10 lakh votes from his nearest rival NOTA, which has broken the record made by Home Minister Shah today. Meanwhile, the Election Commission told that his victory margin will not be determined by NOTA but by the party candidate, who is a BSP candidate. BSP candidate Sanjay Solanki has got only 51 thousand votes. Lalwani has won by 11 lakh votes.

2014 record

Lok Janshakti Party founder Ram Vilas Paswan also has a unique record of winning with record votes. He made a record of winning two Lok Sabha elections with huge margins. In the 1989 Lok Sabha elections, he won from Hajipur seat by 5 lakh votes. In the year 1977, he made a record by winning by 4 lakh 24 thousand votes.
