The demand for affordable and compact sport utility vehicles (SUVs) is increasing rapidly in the Indian market. In the last few days, many new models have been introduced in the market. Recently Tata Motors introduced its new Punch SUV, which has increased the competition even more. But despite all the big players, the sale of the Japanese company Nissan’s cheap SUV Nissan Magnite has surprised everyone.
Looking at the sales figures, Nissan has sold a total of 2,653 units of this small SUV in the month of December last year, which is about 374% more than just 560 units in the month of December of the year 2020. On the other hand, if we look at the sales of the last full year, the company has sold 34,086 units of this SUV in the whole year.
Why people are liking this SUV:
The company has introduced the Nissan Magnite as an entry-level SUV. The low price, better mileage and sporty look make it even better. A total of five people have been arranged in this SUV coming in a total of 6 variants. This SUV comes with two petrol engine options, one variant of this company has used a naturally aspirated engine of 1 liter capacity which generates 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque. On the other hand, a 1 liter turbo petrol engine has been given in the second variant, which generates 100PS of power and 160Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox.
Talking about the features, in this SUV, the company has introduced 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is equipped with wireless connectivity. You can also connect it to Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Other features include 16-inch dual tone alloy wheels, LED headlamps, automatic air conditioning, rear AC vents, wireless charger, air purifier, JBL speakers, LED scuff plate, ambient lighting and paddle lamps.

Despite the low price, the company has also taken full care of safety in this car. It gets dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), brake assist, electronic stability control (ESC) and hill hold assist. Normally this car gives mileage of up to 20 kmpl. In the market, this SUV competes with models like Kia Sonet, Tata Punch and Renault Kiger. Its price ranges from Rs 5.76 lakh to Rs 10.15 lakh.
