Mumbai. The people of India are spread in large numbers not only in their own country but also in countries around the world. Indians who are fond of traveling like to go to Australia, America, Britain and other European countries. A recent data related to tourism has come out, according to which 26,200 Indian tourists reached Australia in January this year, which is about six percent more on an annual basis. Tourism Australia gave this information on Tuesday. India has also improved its situation a lot. For Tourism Australia, India was in seventh place in 2019 and it has come to fifth place in 2024.
Tourism Australia’s ‘Country Manager’ (India and Gulf) Nishant Kashikar told PTI, “We did very well in January and 26,200 Indians visited Australia. This is an increase of 6.07 percent compared to 24,700 during the same month in 2019. He said, “If we calculate from February 2023 to January 2024, the total number of Indians going to Australia has crossed the 4,00,000 mark and has reached 4,02,200.”

Increase from 8 to 28 flights
The senior official said this increase in tourist numbers is mainly due to Tourism Australia’s joint efforts with its airlines, key distribution partners and more than 5,000 Australian specialist agents in India to drive consideration and conversion. “The number of airline flights connecting New Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai has increased from eight per week to 28 in 2019,” Kashikar said.
