Tesu flower or Palash flower is the state flower of Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. With the arrival of summer, Palash flowers start blooming. It is also called forest fire. Palash has been honored by being published on the stamp of the Indian Post Office. In Hindu religion, Palash is considered the abode of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Apart from this, Palash has Ayurvedic uses, through which many diseases are cured.

In this regard, Dr. Makrand Kumar Mishra (24 years of BAMS experience) of the AYUSH department of Hazaribagh says that Palash is as attractive as it looks. It has more Ayurvedic benefits than that. Astringent and anti-oxidant properties are found in Palash. Its flowers, leaves and roots have the ability to fight many types of diseases.

In earlier times, people used it to make colors, but its use is most effective in fighting rheumatic diseases. Apart from this, it is very beneficial in skin diseases, stomach worms, diabetes and wound healing. Also it is used to increase redness on the face.

Apart from its flowers, many properties are found in its leaves and bark. There are different ways of consuming it. If someone has worms in his stomach, then the powder of these seeds should be consumed on an empty stomach with honey.

Apart from this, for wound healing, leaves and bark should be ground and a paste should be applied on the wound. Consuming the juice of Palash leaves helps in controlling diabetes. In case of skin related problems, a paste of its flowers should be applied. Its paste is also effective in curing the problem of itching and dryness. The astringent properties present in it are very beneficial for the skin.
