At present, Kakora is being sold at the rate of Rs 180 per kilo.
Dr. Archana Singh, a dietician posted at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Joint Hospital, Etawah headquarters, says that Kakora is known as forest bitter gourd. It is considered a very good vegetable for rainy days. It contains a lot of vitamins, proteins etc. which are considered very beneficial for the human body. Consuming Kakora increases the resistance power. Immunity increases in the human body. It contains essential elements, minerals and vitamins.
Its consumption is very beneficial in avoiding seasonal diseases. The villagers pluck it and sell it in the open market, which also gives them a lot of profit. Maqsood, a local resident of Etawah, says that this Kakora fruit, which grows in the rainy season, is very much liked by the common people. People eat it a lot because it grows only in the rainy season, so people do not miss out on enjoying it.
