It is also called Air Potato. Gethi, which looks like a potato, is hot in nature. After the rains in the mountains, it will be seen growing on the vines in the months of October and November. Gethi is especially eaten in winter. Apart from this, it is produced the most in Nigeria. Also, it is eaten as a main fruit in Ghana, Brazil, Japan, Cuba.
Dr. Lalit Tiwari, Professor of Botany Department of DSB College, Nainital, Uttarakhand, during a special conversation with Local 18, told that the nature of Gethi is hot. Its use is beneficial during winters. Red black colored wheat is found in the mountains. Its taste is astringent. It is found in high altitude areas in the mountains. About 600 of its species are found all over the world. Apart from being astringent in taste, it is full of many medicinal properties.

Professor Tiwari says that Gethi contains copper, glucose, sugar, iron, potassium, manganese and vitamins. Gethi is used in many ways. It is also used in Chyawanprash. Also, its paste is used to remove blemishes from the face. At the same time, it is also beneficial for diseases related to gall bladder.
