USSD Code Smartphone Rule: If you use a smartphone then there is useful news for you. The Telecom Department has taken a big decision regarding smartphones, which is going to have a direct impact on smartphone users. In view of the rapidly increasing cases of fraud and scams, the Department of Telecommunications of the Central Government has decided to close the USSD based call forwarding facility from April 15.
After April 15, mobile users will not be able to use the call forwarding facility in their phones. However, DOT has also said that the call forwarding facility can be optionally activated later. At present this facility will be closed after the 15th. Instructions have been sent to all the telecom companies in this regard by the Department of Telecommunications.
Let us tell you that the Department of Telecommunications has taken this decision to stop fraud and scams happening through mobile phones. Along with this, the government has asked telecom companies to make a separate arrangement for call forwarding.
What is USSD based service?
Let us tell you that to use USSD based service, smartphone users dial a special secret code on their phone screen. Generally, through USSD based service, people get many other information like knowing IMEI number, knowing mobile balance etc. Call forwarding facility is also available in USSD based service. To get information in USSD based service, users have to dial a special code. Now the Department of Telecommunications has decided to stop the call forwarding service available in this service.
DOT said this big thing
Let us tell you that in this regard, DOT said in an order issued on March 28 that it has come to our notice that the USSD based call forwarding facility is being used for many types of inappropriate activities. After knowing this, it has been decided that it should be closed after April 15. DoT said in the order that those who have activated the call forwarding facility can be given another option.
