Superstar spinner Yuzvendra Chahal rattled the batting line-up of Kent Spitfires and took five wickets for 14 runs in his 10 overs, which bundled out the opponent team for 82 runs in 35.1 overs. Chahal took the wickets of Jaden Denley (22), Ekansh Singh (10), Grant Stewart (01), Beyers Swanepoel (01) and Nathan Gilchrist (06). Chasing this target, the visiting team scored 86 runs for the loss of one wicket in 14 overs and registered an easy win. Earlier, it had lost six matches. This is its second win. The team finished eighth in the points table and failed to make it to the quarter-finals.
Apart from the ODI Cup, Yuzvendra Chahal will also play the remaining five matches in the ‘County Championship Division Two’. Northamptonshire announced Chahal’s joining the team on its website. Northamptonshire said in a statement that Northamptonshire County Cricket Club is happy to inform that Indian International cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal will join the club for the final ODI Cup match in Kent and the remaining five County Championship matches.

Thirty-four-year-old Yuzvendra Chahal has played 72 ODIs and 80 T20Is for India so far. He is the highest wicket-taker for India in T20 Internationals. He has 96 wickets to his name. Apart from this, he has taken 121 wickets in ODI cricket. He has not yet got a chance to debut in the Test team.
