India vs Sri Lanka Sanath Jayasuriya: T20 series will be played between India and Sri Lanka from 27th July. Suryakumar Yadav has been given the command of Team India. The captain of the Sri Lankan team is Charit Aslanka. Star player Dushmantha Chameera has been ruled out due to injury even before the series. This has given a big blow to Sri Lanka. Rajasthan Royals’ High Performance Director Zubin Bharucha helped the Sri Lankan players. Now Sri Lankan coach Sanath Jayasuriya has said a big thing about Zubin Bharucha.
Sri Lankan players took help from Zubin Bharucha
Sri Lankan team coach Sanath Jayasuriya revealed that a six-day camp was organised with Zubin Bharucha despite some of the Sri Lankan players being involved in the Lanka Premier League. We started the sessions immediately after the LPL. Most of the players were playing in the LPL so they were busy with cricket and we wanted them to play as much cricket as possible.
Jayasuriya said that we brought Zubin from Rajasthan Royals and we worked with him for about six days. Other cricketers also joined him after playing in the LPL. I hope the players have learned what you (management) want from them in terms of practice and technique. The preparation was good and we have two more days in Kandy before the T20 starts. The sessions with Bharucha were very intense and the players learned a lot from him.
Sri Lankan coach Sanath Jayasuriya spoke on Rohit-Virat
Sanath Jayasuriya said that it is expected that the Sri Lankan team will take advantage of the retirement of star players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rohit, Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja retired from T20 International matches after India’s World Cup victory last month. He said that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the best players in the world. Given their talent and the kind of cricket they have played, we all know where they and Jadeja stand. Their absence is a loss for the Indian team and we have to make the most of it.
