Retirement: The Indian women’s team is currently playing a ODI series against South Africa. Now Indian women’s team’s fast bowler Niranjana Nagarajan has announced her retirement by posting on social media. She is not a part of the Indian team at present and she played her last match for India in the year 2016. She has not been able to make a place in Team India for the last 8 years.

Niranjana Nagarajan has written in the Instagram post that playing cricket at the professional level has been the best thing for me, because everything in life started from this. Playing this game gave me perspective and reason to move forward in life. I have played this game for 24 years at the professional level. Now I am retiring from all formats, international and domestic. I am grateful to everyone. When I look back, it is a beautiful journey. It has given me lovely memories. It is time for me to give back to that game.
It is an honour for me that I have played cricket in all three formats. I am grateful to my grandmother, because of whom I started playing cricket. She also thanked her husband, parents, BCCI and Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.
Scored so many runs for India in all three formats
35-year-old Niranjana Nagarajan has played cricket in all three formats for the Indian women’s team. She made her ODI debut for India in 2008. She last played for India in a T20 match in Ranchi during Sri Lanka’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2016. Niranjana has scored 27 runs in 2 Tests, 70 runs in 22 ODIs and 42 runs in 14 T20I matches for India. Her debut in all three formats was against England. Apart from this, she has 4 wickets in Tests, 24 wickets in ODIs and 9 wickets in 14 T20I matches.
