Rohit Sharma
Indian Team Rohit Sharma: The Indian team had to face defeat by 110 runs in the third ODI match against Sri Lanka. With this, Team India also lost the series 0-2. The Indian team has lost the ODI series against Sri Lanka after 1997. The Indian batsmen could not perform well in the entire series. Team India had to pay the price for this by losing the series. After the match, captain Rohit Sharma has given a big statement.
We need to focus on many things: Rohit
Rohit Sharma said that we lost the series and I think we need to focus on many areas instead of positive things. We have to go back and see what we have to do when we face such situations. India had earlier defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in the T20 series. The Indian captain admitted that his team did not perform well. We did not play good cricket throughout the series and that is why we are standing here. There were some positive things in the entire series. The way the spinners bowled, some batsmen in between as well.
Losing the series does not mean the end of the world: Rohit
When Rohit was asked if Team India became a bit careless after the T20 World Cup-2024 victory? Then the captain said that it would be a joke. If you are playing for India and take the other team lightly. I don’t think it is a matter of concern but it is something that we need to seriously consider. It is something that we were definitely under pressure in this series. Losing a series does not mean the end of the world. These players have been playing very well for the last few years. You will lose some series. It is about how you bounce back after losing.
In the third ODI, Sri Lankan team batted first and gave the Indian team a target of 249 runs, in response to which Team India collapsed at 138 runs. Indian team could not even play the full 50 overs. Rohit Sharma scored 35 runs. Washington Sundar definitely played many big strokes in the end. But by then it was too late. Sri Lankan spinners once again wreaked havoc in which Dunith Welalage took five wickets for 27 runs while Mahesh Theekshna and Jeffrey Vandersay took two wickets each.
