Haridwar: On Friday, i.e. 2nd August, on the occasion of Shivratri, the ongoing Kanwar Mela 2024 in Haridwar was formally concluded. This was announced by the DM-SSP of Haridwar. During this, the officials worshiped at Daksheshwar Mahadev temple. The officials offered Ganga water at the Shiva temple here. Prayed for the prosperity of the state and expressed gratitude for the successful completion of the program. During this, the weather of Haridwar also remained pleasant. A large number of devotees were present at Har Ki Pauri amidst light rain. Amidst the chants of Har-Har Mahadev, people worshiped at Daksheshwar Mahadev.

DM Dhiraj Singh Garbyal and SSP Pramod Singh Dobal were present on this occasion. Temples across the country were decorated on the day of Shivratri. Huge crowds of devotees were seen in Shiv temples since morning. Bhandaaras were also organized at many places. Lord Shiva was ritually anointed with water in temples. At the same time, flowers were showered on Kanwariyas returning home at many places in UP.

It is known that every year in the month of Saavan, Kanwar is carried by Shiva devotees. Shiva devotees living in Delhi-NCR bring holy Ganga water from Haridwar and perform Jalabhishek in Shiva temples. According to Hindu belief, Shiva is very soon pleased with those who do Kanwar Yatra. He also fulfills all their wishes. Every year hundreds of people carry Kanwar and pray to Shiva to fulfill their wishes.
