New Delhi: South cinema is once again making its mark at the box office, especially Malayalam cinema has taken a big leap in business. On one hand, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life has collected Rs 144 crore and people are still visiting theaters to watch it. On the other hand, another Malayalam film Varshangalkku Shesham has also scored half a century at the box office. Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial ‘Varshangalakku Shesham’ starring Pranab Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan in lead roles has emerged as a blockbuster.
According to media reports, the film Varshangalkku Shesham, released on April 11, has crossed the figure of Rs 50 crore in the worldwide box office collection. Recently the producers themselves have confirmed their box office collection through their social media handles. The film has achieved this feat within seven days of its release and with this the makers have made almost 7 times the profit of their cost. The makers of the film wrote in the post last night itself, ‘One… two… three… clap! The magic of cinema around you is becoming stronger than ever. #VarshangalkkuShesham’s worldwide earnings cross Rs 50 crore! Thanks to all of you! Now in theaters near you!’ Let us tell you that this film was made at a cost of only Rs 8 crore and now the makers are becoming rich through it.
Written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, ‘Varshangalakku Shesham’ is an epitome of cinema and friendship. The cast of the film also includes prominent faces like Aju Varghese, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Basil Joseph, Vineet Srinivasan, Neeraj Madhav, Neeta Pillai, Arjun Lal, Ashwath Lal, Kalesh Ramnath and Shaan Rahman etc. Interestingly, this film is also a symbol of reunion. Apart from Varshangalakku Shesham, these days Fahadh Faasil’s Avesham is also doing well at the box office and has collected Rs 58 crore. Let us tell you that Avesham was made at a cost of Rs 20 crores and it was also released on April 11. These are those films which were not promoted on a large scale and yet they are giving profits to the makers.
