Dr. Lalit Tiwari, Professor of Botany Department of DSB College, Nainital, Uttarakhand, says that Vajradanti is a very important plant of Ayurveda.
Professor Tiwari says that the botanical name of Vajradanti is Barleria prionitis. Everyone in India knows Vajradanti. This plant is a part of people’s daily routine. He said that this plant has many medicinal properties as well as many anti-aromatic properties. Vajradanti is found in South Asia, North East Africa. It grows at an altitude of 2000 to 3000 meters.
Everything from the roots to the leaves is useful
Professor Tiwari says that six types of hydroxy flammones are found in the leaves of Vajradanti which have many antiseptic properties. He said that this plant is also called yellow Priyabasa. This plant grows from the root. The bark, root, leaves and flowers of Vajradanti are all useful. Hydro ethanol, carbohydrates, proteins, glycosides as well as amino acids are found in this plant. Which protect the body from diseases. Every day in life, we use Vajradanti in different forms.
